Tomorrow, December 12th, at the Vatican Film Library, Mother Fortress, the only Italian film in competition. Special event at the Trevi cinema: Burning Bush, commented by film director Agnieszka Holland and screenwriter Štěpán Hulík
The second day of the Tertio Millennio Film Fest (December 11th-15th, 2018), the festival of the interreligious dialogue organised by Fondazione Ente dello Spettacolo, is dedicated to the films in competition and the special events.
Three films shown to talk about The days of the uprising. War, revolution and liberation, the theme of the XXII festival. Specifically, In the Claws of a Century Wanting by Jewel Maranan, Dayan by Behrouz Noorani Pour and Mother Fortress by Maria Luisa Forenza. Each screening will be commented in the cinema by the film director, to analyse the addressed subjects with the public. As for the Special event, film director Agnieszka Holland and screenwriter Štěpán Hulík will present their Burning Bush (Hořící keř), the story of the desperate act made by Jan Palach who, in 1969, set himself on fire to protest against the occupation of Czechoslovakia.

- 3.00 pm In the Claws of a Century Wanting (120’), directed by Jewel Maranan, and meeting with the film director – Film in competition.
Four families live in a shantytown near the international port of Manila, among the busiest places in the city. Every day they see the goods coming from all countries. The port will soon require more space and they will have to move.
- 5.30 pm Dayan (81’), directed by Behrouz Noorani Pour, and meeting with the film director – Film in competition. Set on the day after the beginning of the war in Syria, this is the story of nearly 4000 refugees who have never been able to reach their families due to the borders established by the terrorist groups.
- 7.00 pm Burning Bush (Hořící keř) (234’), directed by Agnieszka Holland – Meeting with the film director and the screenwriter Štěpán Hulík – Special event

- 17.30 pm Mother Fortress (78’), directed by Maria Luisa Forenza, and meeting with the film director – Film in competition. Carmelite Mother Agnes, together with monks and nuns from different countries (Lebanon, Portugal, France, Belgium, Chile, Venezuela, Colorado-USA), faces the effects of the war in Syria upon her Monastery located at the foot of the mountains on the border with Lebanon, where Al-Qaeda and ISIS insidiously hide.
